Disney Read-Along is a series of illustrated books for children with accompanying recordings of the books being read. The first books and recordings were released in 1965 by Disneyland Records (now Walt Disney Records). In total, more than 150 titles were released.
The 24-page books were typically adaptations of popular Disney films and cartoons. Occasionally, adapted non-Disney stories (such as general fairy tales), stories based on Disneyland park rides, and original stories featuring Disney characters have been released. Books and recordings often include dialogue and songs from the original source.
Since the first recordings were on vinyl records, and later on cassettes, the sound of the Tinker Bell chimes, or some other sound that was warned about at the beginning of the book, was a signal for the reader to turn the page.
A great slogan "SEE the pictures, HEAR the record, READ the book" was coined for the series. Many books have been reprinted. We indicate the year of publication, which is on our website. The series was finished in 1988. After that, Disney and Disney Pixar, of course, continue to publish books based on their cartoons. These are modern, colorful editions based on cartoons released after 1988 to the present. These books (if they were voiced) are in section 2 (for subscribers).
You can read more about the history of this series in
Disney Read-Along article on the FANDOM website under The Disney Wiki.
To learn English effectively, it is very important that you begins to understand the cartoons and films that you watch as quickly as possible. And it will be great if, before watching a movie or cartoon, you read a book that will help you understand what is being said from the screen.
Therefore, we undertook to modernize this important series of books so that it is convenient to read, listen and watch on a computer and TV. All work on the reconstruction of these books belongs to our artist
Nastya Polynko. Only the video is made by Emilia Perepichko (7 grade).
The page format was changed (unfolded 1920x1080). Where necessary, the font is changed to a larger one. Drawings are ennobled and cleaned. We try to remove clicks from audio tracks (where possible). We add the lyrics of the most popular songs.
